Even a superhero needs blood sometimes.
Ronnie Hurlebusch was diagnosed with PKD (Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency), a rare enzyme disorder, and received his first blood transfusion when he was just three weeks old.
Ronnie is transfusion-dependent, meaning he receives blood products every three to five weeks — and will for the rest of his life.
With the help of those anonymous blood donors, Ronnie will soon celebrate his seventh birthday in August.
