This Life Brought to You by Blood Donors

Jamie Vazquez

At 35 weeks pregnant, Jamie's spleen ruptured. She had to have an emergency C-section in addition to a splenectomy, receiving 14 units of blood in the process.

After 12 days in the hospital, Jamie was able to go home. Two days later, her baby girl was able to come home with her.

"I knew from the moment we walked through the front door that our family was complete,"Jamie said. "And we owed it all to the generous donations of complete strangers."

More than 20 years later, Jamie now works in the Holdenville Hospital blood bank and coordinates hospital blood drives.
