Our Blood Institute blood bank volunteers at donor event

Did you know that someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion every two seconds? That's over 43,000 transfusions every day in this country alone.

Of course, those transfusions are dependent on blood being available. And that doesn't just happen — it takes a village! That's why all of us at Our Blood Institute are so thankful for every volunteer that comes our way.

So if you've been looking into how and where to volunteer, look no further. Whether you're a teenager, a senior citizen or somewhere in between, we'll match your skills, interests and availability and find the perfect place for you. With locations across Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas, we have a number of volunteer opportunities primed for you to make an incredible, lifesaving difference. Visit any of the links below for details regarding OBI donor center hours, locations and volunteer coordinator information!

    Ways to Volunteer

Want to work directly with donors? Consider volunteering as a receptionist at one of our donor centers or becoming a mobile blood drive crew member. Interested in something behind the scenes? You could call prospective donors, label empty blood bags, or help us pack our blood drive kits, T-shirts and snacks. If you've ever donated blood with us, you know how important those Nutter Butters are!

How about using your Instagram to save lives? That's right, as an OBI Social Media Ambassador, you can use your social media platform to highlight the importance of giving blood.

    Why Volunteer with OBI

Volunteer with Our New Therapy Dog Program

Few volunteer opportunities let you contribute to a lifesaving mission while working with man's best friend, but Our Blood Institute's BloodHounds program does exactly that. This initiative brings the comfort and joy of certified therapy dogs to blood donors, helping ease stress and create a positive donation experience.
